When I went looking for voice lessons in the early 90's, I was lucky enough to find myself in a room with Yury Shenkar. Not having any real knowledge of how to sing correctly, Yury started me on my path to understanding and training my voice to become an active instrument in my day-to-day life. Yury was patient, presenting the lesson material in a thoughtful and concise manner. Yury was also attuned to my progress and was able to alter his message and presentation as my needs required. As my lessons with Yury progressed, I came to look upon him as someone from whom I could get valuable input regarding virtually any musical question. I spend a lot of time playing music; the work I did with Yury helped give me the skills and confidence to make the music I make today.

I have worked with Yury in a number of different capacities. He has been my vocal teacher, a vocal coach during the recording of my band’s album, musician and a producer. I learned quickly that his talent level and versatility is matched only by the highest level of commitment he has to his students and clients. Re: Michael. After three month of studying vocals with Yury, Michael’s voice sounds much less strained and the resulting vocal sounds effortless. He has more stamina and has learned how to approach notes with his voice so that the result sound easy and natural.Music executives in New York City came to hear Michael and Marisa perform on Sunday and commented that their vocals had improved tremendously since they had heard Michael and Marisa perform last April. Thanks Yury! The kids enjoy working with you and we all appreciate your excellent instruction!!
RE: Marisa. After three months of studying vocals with Yury, Marisa has become a different singer. Her voice, at 10 years old has become much bigger, fuller, more confident and more resonant. She finds it easier to find the harmonies to sing them and has increased strength and endurance when she sings.Weighing only 55 pounds Marisa’s voice, before working with Yury, was as you might expect from a small and young girl. After working with Yury her voice sounds much more powerful and Marisa has learned how to control her voice to best suit the vocal situation. Thank you Yury.
